With the cost of utilities on the constant rise, every home should be energy rated.  A rating on a home is the equivalent to the Yellow Energy Guide on all major appliances.  It indicates the energy usage and the associated costs.  If a refrigerator is important enough to have an  energy guide, how much more valuable is your home?  The Home Energy Rating is a written confirmation of your home's energy use, construction components, and also verifies the compliance of various state energy codes.  The energy rating is measured on a scale from zero to one hundred points or one through five stars.  To be energy efficient your home should be rated to a minimum of eighty points or four stars.  The higher the rating or the more stars, the more efficient the home will be.  If your builder, Realtor, or lender has not provided you with a home energy rating...Request One!
